CBI to Seek Review of Delhi High Court Relief in Delhi Liquor Policy Case Involving Arvind Kejriwal

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is preparing to move the Delhi High Court over the relief granted to Arvind Kejriwal and other accused in the Delhi excise policy case. The agency has indicated that certain critical aspects of the investigation were allegedly not fully considered while granting relief, and it now plans to seek judicial intervention.

The case revolves around the now-scrapped 2021–22 Delhi excise policy, which has been under scrutiny over alleged irregularities in its formulation and implementation. Investigating agencies have claimed that procedural lapses and undue benefits to select entities may have caused financial losses to the exchequer. The accused, however, have consistently denied any wrongdoing, calling the allegations politically motivated.

With the CBI set to approach the High Court, the legal battle is expected to intensify in the coming days. The court’s next steps could play a crucial role in shaping the course of proceedings in what has become one of the most closely watched political cases in recent times.

The developments add another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding the excise policy, keeping the spotlight firmly on the courtroom as both sides prepare to present their arguments.
